Goodie Two Shoes™ created the goodie box™ not only with amusement in
mind, but also to provide an 'on-the-spot' environment where children can be
entertained and learn through play. Even though the main focus is FUN, the
toys and drawings aid optimal stimulation of different areas of development
in children. The spotlight falls on a back to basic approach, where children
learn to occupy themselves with basic toys and craft items. Children,
especially preschoolers (up to age 7), can benefit from playing with the
toys and craft items while enhancing the development of the following skills:

Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills require the movement of small muscles, usually in
co-ordination with the eyes. The following are examples of activities that are
included in the goodie box™: manipulation of play dough, threading and lacing
activities, cutting with scissors, controlling fingers or clothes pegs to pick up small
objects and stickers.

Visual Perception
Most children develop the ability to focus visually and to make fine discriminations in visual images as they grow. Good visual perception is especially important for school success. The following are examples of activities that are included in the goodie box™ to help improve visual perception: identifying various shapes, colour recognition and sorting as well as dot to dot pictures

Mathematical Skills
Preschool math activities mostly require children to use real objects to explore mathematical concepts. The following are examples of activities that are included in the goodie box™ to enhance mathematical development: counting objects, identifying numbers and Puzzles

Concentration Skills
Children usually stay focussed on longer on things that truly interests them. Using the goodie box™ will keep children amused by concentrating while being stationary.

Think Goodie Box. Think Playtime. In a Box.
